Social Media Volunteer Officer

Place: Remote/ Essex

Why we need you:
We need to reach a greater audience to showcase who we are, what we do and the impact that can be made through volunteering with TCV Essex.

This volunteering role is rare opportunity that is very flexible and can be done remotely for the most part, and it around other commitments such as studies or job. You will be making a difference in connecting people to local and county wide projects. You will gain experience delivering digital marketing on a portfolio of social media accounts and projects. Networking opportunities including with digital marketing team. Further training. Opportunities to travel to varied sites for content with travel expenses covered. Opportunities to get involved in other areas of volunteering with TCV as and if you wish.

What you need:
Creative and enthusiastic individual, who is competent is all social media platforms and has knowledge in digital marketing. Able to produce content such as social media posts and posters to deadlines that is interactive, and reaches a wide audience.

How much time:
Depending on the individual, this could be a couple hours each week. Looking for this position to be ongoing for minimum 6 months.

You will be supported in your role by experienced staff through regular meetings where issues can be resolved and guidance provided. You will have all reasonable expenses covered (foreign travel excepted) so will not be out of pocket through your volunteering. You will be insured and expected to comply with the policies and procedures of The Conservation Volunteers.

Where roles will be responsible for others, we need to check your references. When the role involves young people and vulnerable adults, we will need to ask for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, Central Registered Body in Scotland or appropriate body in Northern Ireland.

Many people who work in the Environmental Sector have used a Volunteer Officer role as a stepping stone in their career.
