Roles can vary from practical conservation, environmental education or community development.

Our Volunteer Officers are trained and mentored to take on leadership roles in TCV’s programmes, often leading to rewarding careers in the environmental sector. It is a voluntary role which comes with training to ensure that you as the VO can confidently and safely lead tasks and projects. It will also be possible to attend talks on various topics like conservation, composting, bird and bats etc from our Project Officers who regularly deliver sessions on the above and more. This opportunity will allow for workplace learning and development that typical Volunteering roles do not.

A can-do attitude, great with people and a desire to make a difference in the environment and community.

How much time:
Usually one day a week and we'd hope that you will stay with us for a minimum of 6 months.

You will have all reasonable expenses covered (foreign travel excepted) so will not be out of pocket through your volunteering. You will be insured and expected to comply with the policies and procedures of The Conservation Volunteers.

Where roles will be responsible for others, we need to check your references. When the role involves young people and vulnerable adults, we will need to ask for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, Central Registered Body in Scotland or appropriate body in Northern Ireland.
