Senior Project Officer

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

Location: West Dunbartonshire

Salary: £25,225.20 per annum

Hours: 35 per week (full time)

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31/03/2026

About the role

Working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council, the SPO will be responsible for establishing a regular volunteering group and working with other 'closed' groups including charities and local organisations to improve the biodiversity in Local Nature Reserves, aspirational Local Nature Reserves and other greenspaces.

This role will involve leading and coordinating volunteer activity across West Dunbartonshire, delivering high quality volunteer opportunities and environmental outputs.

The role requires a good general standard of education, typically including National 5s in English and Maths or equivalent experience, alongside additional qualifications or training in project delivery. Candidates should have proven experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering practical projects or services, ideally within conservation, health, or wellbeing, and in working with volunteers to achieve project objectives. Strong organisational skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple projects and budgets, and oversee safe use of tools and equipment. The post-holder will be an effective communicator and relationship-builder, engaging with stakeholders to advance project and organisational goals, proactively supporting income generation, and producing progress reports using relevant IT systems. A genuine interest in The Conservation Volunteers' (TCV) mission and objectives is vital.
