Sessional Project Officer x2

Location: Teesside/Co. Durham

Salary: £91.88 per day

Hours: 2 per week (part time)

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31/03/2026

About the role

TCV North East is the latest development of TCV's Practical Conservation model. The team deliver practical environmental improvement and conservation work 3-4 days each week, engaging local communities and other volunteer groups across a range of locations in the North East of England.

We are seeking a highly organised, adaptable, motivated and committed person to join the team for this important post. This post holder will work alongside other staff on the delivery of a variety of practical conservation projects.

This role is a field-based position. Key responsibilities of this post include:
Working alongside other staff members to ensure efficient and professional delivery of practical works

The successful applicant will:
- Have several years of experience working in the environment sector or similar.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of a range of practical conservation tasks, including tree planting.
- An ability to communicate effectively with people with varying abilities as well as children.
- Personal qualities of resourcefulness and flexibility.

Competency certification to operate a variety of machinery and powered equipment relevant to the sector would be advantageous although not a necessity.

Holiday entitlement for any work undertaken will be calculated quarterly and paid to you.

You will be required to drive a TCV vehicle with up to 5 passenger seats. For insurance this means you must meet the TCV driving requirements. A standard full UK Driving Licence held for at least a year is required.

Please note the Sessional Worker role would require your occasional services on a casual, fixed-term basis. Due to the nature of our business, and this role, we are unable to anticipate exactly how many days per week/month we will require your services.

A full, clean or near clean UK driving licence is required for this post, which has been held for a minimum of one year.

To fulfil the role, you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
