An activity with TCV Leicester Volunteers
Activity date: Tuesday 16th September 2025
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 14:30
Our annual visit to this attractive Leicestershire village site. Volunteers will be working to selectively remove the end of season wetland bank vegetation growth along a section of Cosby brook following along the Main Street and into 'The Nook'. There will be some uprooting of excess growth combined with a general cut back and removal of material. All material removed from the stream will be stacked in a designated area and left for a few days before collection and removal from site by the local council.
There will be a minibus pick up at 9.30am for a limited number of volunteers from the Victoria Park car park, Granville Rd LE1 7RY. Volunteers will meet and wait in the area of the stone lodge buildings which belong the City Council, located just up from the toilet block. Alternatively please meet with us at our vehicle depot Evington Park House, Evington Park LE5 6DE for 9am. Evington Park Car Park is free of charge and safe. If you require a seat reserving on the minibus please contact the project officer beforehand by either email: c.forty@tcv.org.uk or mobile: 07764655482

Volunteers will meet and assemble at the Ash-Tree road junction with Main street, just down from Victory Park. There might suitable kerbside parking available close to where we are working otherwise please park your vehicles in the Victory Park Car Park and walk down to us. Toilets are located in the car park. There is also a regular bus service into Cosby with a bus stop just outside of the car park. Probably a good idea to bring/wear wellington boots if working in the water. We will provide thigh waders if and when required.
