Activity description

We will be removing invasive pennywort from this pond in Stock, Chelmsford. We will provide waders and some wellies.

9.45am at The Conservation Volunteers Office, Colchester/ 10am at Britannia Car Park

Stock Pond, Two small ponds off in Stock Ingatestone, Essex, one off Mill Road-Thornton Place and the other behind the Harvard Inn., CM4 9LM

Site description

The Mill Road pond is a small and relatively shallow pond (4ft) with a little island in the middle. The bank is steep. The island has some willow which has been partially coppiced and the pond is covered in duck weed and Floating Pennywort (?), a small amount of mace reeds and other aquatic plants. The Harvard Inn pond is shallow and surrounded by a screen of trees. It has a considerable amount of Crassula.
