You'll also learn about natural dyes and pick up new skills to impress your friends! The session is run on a drop-in basis; it is free and no booking is required. The session will take place indoors, in our classroom, from 11am-1pm. Ask at the gatehouse for directions. With TCV Leicester Volunteers
At Wing Water Treatment Works
Come and join us for the annual hay cut and hand raking on eight designated parcels of species rich grassland surrounding the Wing Water Treatment Works site in the attractive Rutland countryside. Volunteers will be working to rake the cut grass from shaded areas into open areas, some translocation of cut grass from the smaller parcels to the larger areas for ease of conditioning into hay. All conditioned hay will be baled by a local farm park to be used for animal feed. This is a rewarding project for volunteers who are well looked after on this Anglian Water site, a good opportunity to enjoy and be outside with nature.
