With York Practical Conservation - Midweek

We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in York and the surrounding area from 9am-4.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from Tang Hall Community Centre. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.

Join our mission to enhance biodiversity in Glasgow's greenspaces! We're dedicated to creating and refining habitats, eradicating invasive species, planting essential species, and establishing wildflower meadows, ponds, and woodlands. Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and experience the different greenspaces around Glasgow. It also provides an opportunity to meet new people from a range of backgrounds. These groups run every Tuesday to Saturday from approximately 10am - 3pm. Volunteers can sign up for one or all the days. Volunteers must be over 16. At Carsebridge Cultural Campus
The Forth Valley Biodiversity Action Team undertake various practical conservation tasks and improve green spaces across Falkirk and Stirling. Activities include woodland management, pond clearance, maintaining paths and sowing wildflower seeds. We meet every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from approximately 10:30 - 14:00. Sometimes a seafront walk, sometimes a loop into Combe Valley Country Park, sometimes a bit of both, this is a location that offers some delightful contrasts. Take care: rural footpaths can be uneven and could be muddy in winter; some routes include steps over railway.

A beautiful park with exquisite formal planting and mature trees, woodland areas and wide reservoirs with lots of birds. The health walk routes start in the lower park and go into the other sections to make an hour long loop. Take care: mostly smooth surfaced path but can be slightly uneven in woodland routes and can be slightly steep occasionally.
