This is a five week course which runs every Monday from 1st to 29th June 2026 from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Health and Wellbeing courses are designed to help you to improve or take care of your physical and/or mental health and wellbeing. This hands-on course is all about using creativity to boost wellbeing, tackle feelings of isolation, and support mental health. You'll learn practical woodwork skills that you can use in everyday life - no experience needed! Whether you're a complete beginner or just want to refresh your skills, you'll get to safely use common hand tools, measure wood accurately for simple projects, create basic joints and fixings. It's a relaxed and supportive environment where you can learn new skills, meet others, and enjoy the process of making a planter and a small garden store with your hands. This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,750 or work part-time and earn below £13.85 per hour; It is £37.50 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts. Every Monday the Wildlife Walkers gather to take a walk in one of the wonderful parks and nature reserves of Leeds. The walks aim to be accessible for a range of abilities, with regular routes planned to include at least one wheelchair accessible option a month. The group includes plenty of time to appreciate and identify nature along the way. The routes are usually between 1 and 2 miles, with a cup of tea and a snack provided along the way.
