Join The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) to enhance the biodiversity of Glasgowâs many fantastic parks and greenspaces. Help care for the local woodlands and wildlife areas, plant trees and hedges, create wildflower meadows, clear invasive plant species, and much more! Conservation volunteering is a great opportunity to make a difference for nature and to combat climate change. TCV projects run daily from Tuesday â Saturday, approximately 10am â 2pm, with city centre pick-ups and drop-offs. Thereâs no minimum commitment â just join in when you can. At Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park
Join our Saturday conservation workdays at the Ecology Park and help the wardens carry out vital management work in the park's different habitats - marsh, meadow, lakes, ponds, shingle beach and woodland. Places are limited to 10 on a Saturday, so you will need to book in advance by emailing gpep@tcv.org.uk The first time you volunteer, we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form (or we can email this to you in advance if you prefer). You will be working as part of a volunteer team with the park wardens, carrying out tasks such as pond clearing, reed cutting, meadow cutting, coppicing (cutting smaller tree stems), digging and weeding.

In February, Urban Nature Wellbeing Club invites you to a relaxing session exploring the birds that inhabit the peninsula this time of year. Weâll provide binoculars and identification guides and show you how to spot and identify the local birds. Your patience and curiosity will be rewarded with a special gift at the end of the session, leaving you feeling more connected with the feathered friends with whom we share our green spaces. If youâre 18 or over and interested in learning more about mental health, building practical wellbeing tools, and connecting with a supportive community, this club could be the perfect space for you. This session is free, but booking is essential as only 12 spaces are available. Join us at Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park this February half term and choose your park adventure! Pop in any time from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 February (excluding Monday and Tuesday, when the park is closed to the public), between 10:30am and 3:30pm, and enjoy our selfâled trails for children and adults. Discover fascinating facts about minibeasts and birds as you explore the park at your leisure. Younger children can complete a personalised passport while searching for toy minibeasts on our childrenâs trail and learning interesting facts along the way. Older children and adults â can you crack a series of puzzles and put the clues together to solve the mystery of the lost bird? Test your detective skills in this special selfâled trail. Complete one or both challenges, and a small prize awaits you at the end!

Our Green Gym will be working in the grounds of the Ulster Folk Museum helping to create a folklore trail. Our experienced staff will lead you to plant trees for our seed orchard, weave willow structures, lay paths and will teach you about our native trees and the rich biodiversity that they support. Help us to complete practical outdoor tasks and contribute your ideas for developing the trail. Join our green gym and see the benefits! Get Outdoors: being surrounded by greenery has been shown to improve overall mental health and reduce heart rates. Get Active: conservation work or gardening is a great low impact way to exercise your whole body. Meet Local People: our volunteers love meeting new people, so no need to be shy, enjoy coming together to form a team! Learn New Skills: from tool use and plant ID to group leadership, there is something for everyone.
