With ACLS Courses 2025-26
At Hollybush Conservation Centre
This course runs on Mondays for 5 weeks from 8th June to 6th of July 2026 from 10.00am to 14.15pm. The course is aimed at people with or without gardening experience, who want to learn more about greening their spaces and growing plants. No garden space necessary, if all you have is a windowsill or table then we can still teach you the tips and tricks of growing and caring for a wide variety of plants. This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,750 or part-time and earn less than £13.85 per hour; It is £30 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts. With ACLS - Creative Woodwork 2025-26
At Hollybush Woodwork
This is a five week course which runs every Monday from 1st to 29th June 2026 from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Health and Wellbeing courses are designed to help you to improve or take care of your physical and/or mental health and wellbeing. This hands-on course is all about using creativity to boost wellbeing, tackle feelings of isolation, and support mental health. You'll learn practical woodwork skills that you can use in everyday life - no experience needed! Whether you're a complete beginner or just want to refresh your skills, you'll get to safely use common hand tools, measure wood accurately for simple projects, create basic joints and fixings. It's a relaxed and supportive environment where you can learn new skills, meet others, and enjoy the process of making a planter and a small garden store with your hands. This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,750 or work part-time and earn below £13.85 per hour; It is £37.50 for those in receipt of state pension. The Forth Valley Biodiversity Action Team undertake various practical conservation tasks and improve green spaces across Falkirk and Stirling. Activities include woodland management, pond clearance, maintaining paths and sowing wildflower seeds. We are dedicated to enhancing biodiversity through a range of activities from woodland management, creating habitats, eradicating invasive species, sowing wildflower seeds and community garden work. Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and an opportunity to meet new people from a range of backgrounds. Come and join us to help care for the environment, meet new people and spend some time in the great outdoors!

At RSPCA Mallydams - Future landscapes trust
Installing leaky dams from Fairlight to Pett. Leaky dams are designed to slow down water upstream to reduce flood impact downstream of sudden downpours. They are made from natural materials and there will be lots installed along small watercourses to create pools and puddles ponds where they won't do any harm.

At Crofton Park Railway Garden
We return to the Railway Garden to undertake the some more much needed work on behalf of the 'Friends of' group. This time we will be excavating and installing some solid paving slab foundations for a new garden storage shed, and building the new storage shed from kit on the foundation afterwards. We will also be installing some hardstanding flooring around the shed, and building some new timber timber lids for the compost bins. We'll also be creating a a hazel arch from the existing hazel in the middle of the garden.

At Gosbecks Archaeological Park
The fields at Gosbecks are cut for hay in midsummer. It is important to remove Ragwort before the cut as it is harmful for horses and cattle. Removing Ragwort by hand means that all the other plant life can be left to thrive.
