    Avenue Park- Reclaiming the Riverside- Practical Nature Conservation

    Activity description

    The river Crane and Avenue Park need your help! Come and along and help TCV to reclaim the riverside for people and wildlife. No experience needed. Minimum age 18. Conservation tasks: Shrub clearance, wildlife surveys, litter picking, removing invasive plants or river work. We will bring all the tools. You just need to bring yourselves and food and drink for the day. Volunteering with TCV is a great starting point if you are looking for a career in nature conservation.

    Conservation Action Team

    Activity description

    TCV Belfast & East have many projects and volunteering opportunities that connect people and green spaces across Belfast, Greater Belfast and South Eastern areas of Northern Ireland. Everyone is welcome to volunteer with us regardless of age, ability, experience or background. Working outdoors is good for your physical and mental health, you can engage in real practical activity to improve your local environment which benefits everyone. Our volunteers are committed to making a difference. We offer a wide range of opportunities for people to protect, improve and sustain the environment and increase biodiversity. You can learn new skills, engage in physical activity (without going to the gym) and meet other like-minded people. Volunteering with our CAT team gives you a great opportunity get directly involved in practical conservation work. This can include anything from tree and hedge planting, fencing, shrub and wildflower planting, woodland management, pond construction, living willow structures, path construction, creating wildlife and community gardens. The CAT team operates during the week. You can join us at our pick up point in Belfast or in North Down and travel by minibus to sites all over the Belfast and South Eastern area of Northern Ireland. Tools and training are provided to enable you to carry out the day’s task.
