At Meridian One Community Garden (Enfield)
Food growing and gardening tasks. Each week will vary depending on what needs doing, but can include seed sowing, planting out, watering, composting, weeding, construction of raised beds and garden signs. Tasks are suitable for all abilities. We take a break at around 12.30pm with hot drinks, biscuits and fruit provided.

Join us every FIRST and THIRD Wednesday of the month at our Chatham Place Green Gym in Northfield. We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to grow our own food in a relaxed environment, whilst enjoying our time in the communal garden, and making new friends. No previous experience is required and all tools are provided. Chatham Place and the communal garden is fully accessible, and has on site accessible toilets. There is also space for indoor activities, which we use during bad weather to ensure we can all enjoy gardening and growing our own food all year round!

Help us tend the produce growing in the garden, and take care of our local nature and wildlife in the wildlife garden. The garden is new so this is the perfect time to join us and help shape a brand new community garden, and support the local community. No experience necessary and all tools are provided!

At South Luffenham - Pond Close
Pond Close South Luffenham is an evolving wetland habitat with boundary mixed species trees and hedges, the site has a rich species diversity. A tranquil village location benefiting nature and human enjoyment. Our project task will focus primarily on selectively removing excess reed growth from the pond margin. All reed removed will be stacked a short distance away and left for about one week before it is removed from site. There will be a small amount of coppicing hazel and general vegetation cut back.

Green Gym is a great way to keep fit through wildlife conservation and countryside management activities like planting trees, mowing meadows, and repairing fences. Green Gym is open to everyone. No prior experience required, and you can work at your own pace. Guidance and instruction are given throughout. Green Gym sessions are as much about socialising and enjoying nature, as they are about conservation and keeping fit. We meet on the FIRST and THIRD WEDNESDAY of each month, at the car park on Barrowfield Road, Thurnscoe, S63 0BD.

We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in Hull and the surrounding area from 9am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from TCV Humber field office. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.
