    We will be back to look after the meadow at the hidden wildlife area. we strongly advise our volunteers to bring bottles of water with them and depending on the weather a rain proof jacket. The Green Gym® is natural exercise to make a difference! Fun and free outdoor community volunteering sessions to connect us with local green spaces. The Camden Green Gym® runs at different parks & public gardens across Camden.

    Practical Conservation Projects

    Activity description

    We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in Hull and the surrounding area from 9am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from TCV Humber field office. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.

    Wellbeing and nature activities in Howden Walled Garden. Using TCV's Wild Ways Well model and the Five Ways to Wellbeing we'll learn how spending time in nature can help anyone live a happier, healthier life. These Thursday sessions are based around the Walled Garden and include sessions focussed on light conservation gardening, growing and nature identification, as well as time just spent relaxing, enjoying nature with a cup of tea.

    Glasgow's Biodiversity Action Team

    Activity description

    We are working to improve parks and greenspaces around Glasgow. Examples of work to be carried out include: • Sowing wildflower meadows • Creating community gardens • Managing woodlands • Building paths • Cleaning ponds • And much more! Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and experience the different greenspaces around Glasgow. It also provides an opportunity to meet new people from a range of backgrounds. These groups will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10- 3. Volunteers can sign up for one or all the days. Volunteers must be over 16.     Greenchapel - Practical Green Skills

    Activity description

    Join in, feel good... in Drumchapel as we help establish a new group centred around the Drumchapel Way. If its wanting to learn more about nature or want to get stuck in and get your hands dirty this group will be for you. During the day we will be running 2 sessions; Wellbeing in Nature between 10.30am to 12pm, this will be a sessions where we walk and observe local wildlife and take in the great Drumchapel Way. Green Skills session will be 12.30 to 3pm, this will be about practice conservation skill to help improve the green spaces and improving health. Come along to one session or both! There is no commit so if you cant make it one week or only wish to stay for one of them it is okay.

    Bird Song Walk

    May the force (of nature) be with you. Amaze your friends and family by being able to identify birds by their call alone. Become a local hero as you gain confidence and expand your knowledge. Join us for a relaxed circuit of Rowheath Park whilst we ID birds by song and sight. The site has meadows, mature hedgerow, and a large pool with a diverse variety of birds and other wildlife. The walking route is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Look out for our dawn chorus walks in April and May!

    Wild Fridays

    Activity description

    Join us for this family friendly volunteering opportunity in Hull Road Park. On Wild Fridays we aim to improve the park for wildlife by creating new nature homes, planting wildflowers, eco crafting, conducting wildlife surveys and more! Most recently we have created an insect hotel, made bumble bee homes and sown wild meadow seed. This relaxed, informal session is great for those wanting to make a difference, meet new people and get outside. The group is diverse open to additional needs and dementia friendly. During our break volunteers can enjoy snacks and hot drinks provided free of charge from the Choose2cafe (if you have any dietary requirements please contact before attending). Do as little or as much as you like, and stay for as long as you wish! Please contact the office for more details. We look forward to meeting you.
