Activity description
Join our regular Saturday conservation workdays at the Ecology Park and help the wardens carry out vital management work in our different habitats, including marsh, meadow, lakes, ponds, shingle beach and woodland. You must book a space in advance for our Saturday workdays by emailing gpep@tcv.org.uk. The first time you volunteer we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form. Spaces are limited to 10 volunteers on a Saturday. You will be working as part of a volunteer team with the park wardens, carrying out tasks such as pond clearing, reed cutting, meadow cutting, coppicing (cutting smaller tree stems), digging and weeding.

Then join the TCV South Yorkshire team on this new volunteer group to complete a range of habitat management and access improvement tasks for people and nature across the 8 Community Woodland sites that the South Yorkshire team manage. No experience is required, just a willingness to join in. So, if you are interested in finding out what volunteering is all about and have a go at some vegetation / scrub clearance using hand tools. Join our mission to enhance biodiversity in Glasgow's greenspaces! We're dedicated to creating and refining habitats, eradicating invasive species, planting essential species, and establishing wildflower meadows, ponds, and woodlands. Our practical Sessions are every Tuesday to Saturday from 10am-3pm, with town pickups available. Volunteers must be 16 or older. Practical Conservation - 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month

Activity description
We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in York and the surrounding area from 10am-4.30pm on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Transport is provided from Tang Hall Community Centre and the layby at Market Square on University Road. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.
