The Forth Valley Biodiversity Action Team undertake various practical conservation tasks and improve green spaces across Falkirk and Stirling. Activities include woodland management, pond clearance, maintaining paths and sowing wildflower seeds. We are dedicated to enhancing biodiversity through a range of activities from woodland management, creating habitats, eradicating invasive species, sowing wildflower seeds and community garden work. Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and an opportunity to meet new people from a range of backgrounds. Come and join us to help care for the environment, meet new people and spend some time in the great outdoors!

Installing leaky dams as part of a Natural Flood Management programme. Thurs 19/02/2026: Site tour and intro, just pop along to find out more. Installation: 5th March, 19th March, 2nd April Leaky dams are made from natural local materials and are designed to slow water down upstream to reduce flood damage downstream by creating puddles and pools where they don't do any harm.

At Brockwell Park
We return to Brockwell Park to continue with our winter hedge laying works on the western perimeter of the park. We will also be planting native whips in any gaps in the hedgerow, adding mulch where needed, and installing post and wire stock fencing in front of the hedgerow to protect it.

At Richmond Old Burial Ground
TCV complete a variety of tasks onsite during our volunteer sessions, including vegetation/shrub clearance, litter picking or path maintenance. At the southern end of Richmond Cemetery lies the Richmond Old Burial Ground. Dating back to 1856, the cemetery is now a peaceful and relatively wild woodland around a Grade II listed chapel. This site is managed for biodiversity by Richmond Council.

The Green Gym is a unique way to get fit, transform the environment, meet new people and learn new skills. Each session includes a range of activities, designed to suit all abilities. Come and join The Conservation Volunteers as we work to protect and enhance biodiversity and nature in Leyton Jubilee Park all whilst enjoying proven benefits to your physical and mental wellbeing! Activities include planting and maintaining wildflower meadows, wildlife survey work and citizen science, creating stag beetle loggeries, building bee banks, constructing both living and dead hedges and much more!
